Faces of Shift With Liminal Edge Coaching

Can you share the story behind your coaching practice and what inspired you to start it?

After 25 years in executive marketing and nonprofit leadership roles, I realized I was spending more and more of my time helping people navigate change and rediscover purpose as a department head and manager. And, I was really enjoying that role more and more. That insight, led me to leave corporate environments behind and jump fully into coaching. During my certification process, I founded Liminal Edge Coaching, where I help leaders, entrepreneurs, and mission-driven professionals find clarity and courage in life’s in-between moments, the “liminal spaces” of growth and transformation.

How would you describe your role as a professional and life coach, and what does a typical day in your work look like?

I partner with clients to deepen their self-awareness, align with their values, and design intentional next chapters, professionally and personally. My days often blend one-on-one coaching sessions, designing new tools and frameworks, and carving out quiet time for reflection or writing about leadership and change. My learning process is never-ending, so I also spend time reading books, articles, and studies, and consuming other content that informs how I show up for my clients and help them navigate what comes up.

You’ve held leadership roles at some prestigious organizations; how have those experiences shaped the way you coach and support your clients today?

Having led in both the corporate and nonprofit worlds, I’ve experienced the pressures and pivots my clients often face. Those roles taught me the value of empathy, perspective, and presence, and that sometimes the mirror a coach provides reveals possibilities we can’t find alone. I bring that lived understanding to every conversation, helping clients navigate change by balancing ambition and authenticity and purpose.

What about the work of coaching, especially guiding people through transitions and purpose redefinition, most inspires you?

I’m endlessly inspired by the moment a client reconnects with their most authentic self, the sense of “this is who I am, and this is where I’m meant to go.” This includes finding the wisdom of our inner critic and discovering it may have positive intentions. Witnessing that clarity emerge never gets old.

What do you find most rewarding about working with high performers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who are stepping into new chapters of their lives and careers?

My clients are used to leading others, and coaching gives them space to lead themselves. Supporting them as they recalibrate, take bold steps, and design lives with more meaning and intention is incredibly fulfilling.

What do you consider one of your proudest moments or success stories from your coaching practice so far?

While I prefer not to share specifics, some of the most meaningful work I’ve done has been with clients navigating layoffs. Guiding them through uncertainty, self-doubt, and the weight of financial stress to a place of renewed confidence and purpose, and then watching them step into what’s next, is incredibly fulfilling.

What drew you to make Shift Workspaces your home base, and how has the community here supported your practice or personal growth?

Shift has this great mix of warmth and creativity alongside professionalism and polish. The amenities are terrific, the team is incredibly supportive, and the community is diverse and friendly. It gives me both the quiet and focus I need for my work and the connection that keeps entrepreneurship from feeling lonely and isolating.

Outside of coaching, what activities or interests do you enjoy?

We’re new to Denver, having moved here in July, and my wife and I love exploring Colorado with our two young kids. We spend our time hiking, skiing, cycling (and scootering), catching live music, and discovering new family spots. I also enjoy cycling and rucking, exploring new mindfulness practices, writing about how everyday life teaches us about leadership, and diving into great books and podcasts.
