Tell us about The Parson Apartments. What does your organization do, and what is your role within the team?
The Parson Apartments is a Greystar-owned and -managed community coming to life in Denver’s Golden Triangle. I serve as the Senior Community Manager, which I like to describe as being the mayor of the town. I oversee day-to-day operations, resident experience, and team leadership, making sure the community runs smoothly and feels like home for everyone who lives here.
I have been in property management for more than 20 years, starting in leasing and working my way up to assistant manager and community manager roles. I have spent nearly the last decade with Greystar, which has allowed me to grow alongside the company and take real ownership of the communities I manage.
How did Greystar get started, and what inspired its creation?
Greystar was founded in 1993 by Bob Faith and has grown significantly over the years. Today, the company operates internationally and manages approximately 950,000 units across the globe. That growth reflects a strong foundation built on consistency, leadership, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
What is Greystar’s core mission, and how does it guide your day-to-day work?
Greystar’s mission is simple but powerful: to enrich the lives we touch by doing things the right way. That philosophy guides every decision we make, from how we care for residents to how we support our teams. It is not just a statement on paper. It shows up in daily interactions, long-term planning, and the culture we build within each community.
What makes Greystar stand out in the property management industry?
Greystar truly operates with a people-first mindset. Residents, team members, suppliers, and partners are all treated as valued stakeholders. I have never felt like just a number here. I am trusted to take ownership of my property and lead in a way that best serves the community, which makes a huge difference in how we show up every day.
Who do you consider your ideal clients or partners, and what value do you strive to bring them?
Our residents are always the top priority. Everything we do is centered around creating a positive living experience for them. In addition, strong relationships with suppliers and financial partners are essential. While The Parson is owned and managed by Greystar, our financial partners also play a key role in bringing the community to life.
What challenges has your team faced, and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges we faced was Denver’s restriction on hard hat tours during construction. Since we could not walk prospects through the building, we had to get creative. We transformed one of our offices at Shift Workspaces into a preview experience by installing cabinetry and finishes so people could truly visualize their future home before committing. It allowed us to continue building excitement and momentum despite the limitations.
How would you describe your company culture, especially at The Parson Apartments?
Our culture is deeply rooted in putting people first. Whether it is residents, team members, suppliers, or partners, everyone is treated as important. At The Parson, we are focused on creating a warm, inviting, and community-driven environment. From fun resident events to 24/7 concierge service and valet parking, every detail is designed to deliver a top-notch living experience.
What innovations or tools are you most excited about right now?
Smart home technology is a major focus for us. Residents will be able to control lighting, thermostats, and air filters, as well as set up guest access. These features add convenience, efficiency, and flexibility, elevating the overall living experience.
How does Greystar invest in professional growth and community engagement?
Greystar offers a wide range of learning and development opportunities that support both professional and personal growth for team members. Community engagement is also a priority. The company is a strong supporter of St. Jude, regularly organizing fundraising efforts and providing paid time off for employees to participate in community service initiatives.
What is next for The Parson Apartments over the next one to three years?
Our goal is to be largely leased within the first 12 months, with approximately 75 percent pre-leasing at opening. We anticipate it will take 18 to 24 months to fully lease the community. As one of the last major developments in the Golden Triangle, we want The Parson to become an integral part of the neighborhood, including vibrant retail on the ground floor.
Why did you choose to work from Shift Workspaces, and what keeps you here?
Proximity was the initial draw since our construction office was nearby, but Shift Workspaces quickly became more than just convenient. The space grows with our team, and the amenities, events, and thoughtful details create an experience that mirrors what we are trying to offer residents at The Parson. It feels intentional, welcoming, and well cared for.
How do you and your team like to spend time in Denver outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring Colorado with my husband through off-roading adventures. We are Jeep enthusiasts and love building and driving our Jeeps with our dogs, Boomer and Kane, who are named after a trail in Moab.
