What drew you to join NEO Home Loans, and how has the company supported your mission to help families build generational wealth?
I’ve always believed that a mortgage should be more than just a transaction. It’s about helping people achieve their dreams, build a secure future, and maybe even leave a legacy for their kids.
That’s why I was so drawn to NEO Home Loans. They truly get it.
The masterminds and collaboration between advisors and leadership is truly remarkable. I have learned more in the last three years at NEO than the previous ten years in my career. We are dedicated to always raising the bar and elevating the client experience.
NEO Home Loans emphasizes education and empowerment for its clients. How do you ensure your clients feel confident and informed throughout their homeownership journey?
At NEO Home Loans, we believe empowered clients are confident clients. That’s why education is woven into every step of the homeownership journey. We start with an in-depth consultation where we really listen to our clients – their dreams, goals, and yes, even their fears. This allows us to tailor our guidance and provide truly personalized advice.
For example, once a client finds their dream home, we hold another consultation to discuss the next steps, explore interest rate options like locking, and address any questions they have. Throughout the entire process, we encourage open communication and provide valuable resources to demystify the home-buying experience. We’re committed to being accessible and responsive, ensuring our clients feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Can you share a success story where NEO Home Loans’ unique approach made a meaningful difference for a client?
Absolutely! There’s one story that really stands out. I had the pleasure of working with a young family – a lovely couple, both in the medical field, with two small children. They were referred to me about a year and a half ago, and initially, their credit situation presented some significant hurdles to homeownership.
But they were determined, and so was I. We sat down together and created a detailed plan. We identified debts to pay off, accounts to negotiate, and even a few errors on their credit report that needed disputing. It was a real team effort.
Over the next year and a half, we checked in regularly, reviewed their progress, and adjusted the plan as needed. I offered encouragement, answered their questions, and kept them focused on their dream of owning a home.
Seeing their dedication and perseverance was truly inspiring. They worked incredibly hard, and finally, just a few months ago, they achieved their goal! They were able to purchase a beautiful new home for their family. The joy and pride they felt were absolutely palpable. It was an emotional moment for all of us.
This story perfectly illustrates the power of NEO’s approach. It’s about more than just processing loans; it’s about building relationships, providing guidance, and empowering clients to overcome challenges and achieve their dreams. That’s what makes this work so rewarding.
What advice would you give to aspiring mortgage advisors who want to adopt a similar holistic and collaborative approach as NEO Home Loans?
That’s a great question! My advice to aspiring mortgage advisors would be to prioritize finding a company that truly aligns with your values. Look for a culture that embraces a holistic approach, where client education, collaboration, and genuine care are at the forefront.
It’s incredibly important to have that internal support system. A company that invests in your growth, encourages collaboration, and provides the resources you need to truly serve your clients will make all the difference in your ability to thrive.
When you’re surrounded by like-minded individuals who share your passion for empowering clients, it elevates your work and allows you to make a greater impact. So, my advice is to be selective, do your research, and find a company that champions the values you believe in. It will make your journey as a mortgage advisor much more fulfilling and rewarding.

Jody, what do you like to do for fun! What makes a weekend great for you?
I’m married with three kids, and we’re lucky to call Colorado home. We love spending time in Steamboat Springs, exploring the mountains. My hobbies are all about enjoying nature – hiking, biking, paddleboarding, and snowboarding. And when I’m not outdoors, I find joy in cooking and experiencing the energy of live music.
